LONG last half of May. Especially this past week.

My daddy came home, my Misbah went off and got married ( yay! ) and my sister went off and got graduated (yay again!). Anyways, lots of really big things in other people's lives going on, so I thought I'd just post about those.

1) Misbah getting married! I have to say, a lot more emotional than I expected. I'd show pictures but I don't know if I'm allowed to. So I am only posting a picture of me wearing my traditional pakisitinal outfit. It was so cool! I have to say, it definitely takes skill to wear that ... forehead jewel thingy. Gotta learn to keep that head still.

Anyways... it was just really sad to send her away at the end.. you sort of feel like she's really leaving your life entirely, even though she'll still be a few minutes away by skytrain.  I miss her already  :(  But I am really happy that she's found somebody that really does complete her, as Jerry Maguire as that might sound.

2)  My sister's graduation.  Not as emotional, as I have to say I was not completely impressed with the speeches given by people.  Somehow they just didn't seem appropriately addressed to the graduates as they should have been.  And the graduates just seemed to be bustled across the stage, not even given the recognition of WHAT they are majoring in.  I think, even though I might have been bored, it woudl have been better if they'd spent more time focusing on the graduating class than on speeches delivered by the president and the chancellor.  But that's just my opinion.

Anyways.  had a nice day with the family after that.   Here's to my sister!  Congratulations!

It's been a while since the family's been together like this, so it was nice we had this occasion to sort of just go out and spend time together.  Plus we all got dressed up (well, sorta.  I didn't even bother ironing my pants...) and went to BCAA afterwards.  I felt slightly overdressed for that...

Aside from these events, I also went to Misbah's mendi (?), sushi with the family, da vinci code with my parents, and lots of walks with flossy at deer lake with them too!

Anyways... I just had a really really nice week with my dad.  And the house feels really empty without him home.... I miss my daddy a lot more than I thought I would...  :(

yes, that's right. you're eyes aren't fooling you.  This is an update.  But I'm tired.. so it's a short one.

So in short:

1)  School.  Over for now.  Tired of it.  Need some fun.

2)  Work.  Starting Monday.  Excited, but at the same time I wish I could have a bit more time to do nothing all day.

3)  Exercise.  Been keeping up for most days.  Loving my Deer Lakr runs, not minding the hike up Royal Oak, but am really starting to get sore.

4)  Reading.  Read SO many books (compared to my usual book count of zero) during the exam period.  Hopefully... the time I used on that isnt' reflected in my final marks... AND and.  I just have to say. I FINISHED WUTHERING HEIGHTS!  I should get a gold star just for that!!  A painful experience, but now I feel like I can do anything!!

5)  Fun stuff!  Friday met up with Ioana RIGHT after my exam.  Was expecting to hang out maybe 3 hours... ended up being 6 and my feet KILLED.  I don't think it helped that we were carrying an iron around for a chunk of that time.

5 part b)  more fun stuff!  The year end gathering, was quite a relaxing and fun time!  First, I finally got to see the Lion King.. after SO many years.  Yay for guys going outside to play basketball to give me that chance =)  And you guys actually missed some great musical sing-along moments tho...  Again, stayed much longer than anticipated, but Charades was quite fun.  My one disappointment was my inability to finish Victoria's tiramisu.  I don't think people realized JUST how devastated I was when I started feeling light-headed after eating just a bit of it...  I blame my dad's alcohol intolerance gene for it!  I later realized I should have just kept my plate nearby and eaten it in intervals...  Anyways.  Thanks Gary!!  Great way to end the semester.  At least now I can say i did something fun on my one weekend of freedom before work starts.

Current Song: Mark Joseph - Fly (BUT I can't find the version I want! where are you??)

Current attire: big sweatshirt over my pj's.  Plus Slippers.  Nighttime is quite cold.
